What Are the Priorities of the Healthcare Industry?

A recent invite-only conference shows how the FDA is working with Big-Pharma to profit off of Alzheimer's and obesity.

Actions speak louder than words. Once you cut through all the rhetoric from the pharmaceutical industry about helping the American Public, a very consistent pattern emerges.

Drugs or therapies that effectively cure diseases Americans never see the light of day, while drugs that provide small alleviations of those diseases (often with significant side effects) are pushed through not only by Big Pharma but also by every institution in America—including the FDA who we are supposed to trust to protect us.

This has always been a problem, but since COVID-19, especially since the current administration took office, the corruption has kicked into overdrive. Like the COVID-19 vaccines, we are now seeing other dangerous and ineffective pharmaceuticals being pushed onto the market that are difficult to justify ever approving.

The new drugs for Alzheimer’s exemplify this problem. Because Alzheimer’s has such a profound impact on society, decades of research (which receives billions in funding each year) have gone into addressing this problem. Yet, despite rampant fraud in the field and the research never producing anything of value, we keep funding it.

In the last two years, drugs that “treat” it have finally emerged from all that research. Yet, they don’t work, severely injure many who receive them, and are incredibly expensive. The FDA in turn, has done everything it can to push them onto the market, a decision so corrupt many who never criticize the agency spoke out against what the FDA did.

In contrast, numerous treatments have been developed for Alzheimer’s that do work (e.g., coconut oil quite literally does more for Alzheimer’s than any of these new drugs). Still, these approaches have never seen the light of day despite clinical trials demonstrating they work.

Recently, the pharmaceutical industry had its annual conference for investors (run by JP Morgan) that sets the tone for what the industry will push over the next year. It emphasized how much money was going to be made by pushing the new treatments for Alzheimer’s and Obesity (both conditions with safe and effective treatments that have been dismissed so profitable ones can be sold instead).

What I found remarkable about this conference was that right before it started, the head of the FDA (whose career had been spent working for Big Pharma) pushed through one of the new Alzheimer’s drugs. A few days later, he was a keynote speaker at the industry conference that extolled the virtues of these new drug markets.

When I looked through everything at the conference, I realized it provided one of the most transparent illustrations I have seen of the priorities of the healthcare industry and how our government has become so corrupt it now works hand in hand to promote those interests.

I feel what happened at the conference is something every American needs to know, especially if they or someone close to them suffers from Alzheimer’s or Obesity. We have hit the point that too many of those who direct our society fully prioritize profits over people. That has to change.
